Emergency Procedures

In case of fire

• Call the Fire Brigade on 999 immediately and inform them of the presence of an LPG tank
• If it is safe to do so, shut all valves on the tank and the emergency valve outside the house
• Ring the Calor Emergency Service (24 hour) on 0845 7 444 999
• Do not turn on the gas until the system is proved safe and all appliances have been turned off

In the event of no gas supply

• Check contents indicator and pressure gauge on tank, if fitted
• If no gas is present in the tank, turn off taps at each appliance
• Shut all valves on tank and emergency control valve outside the building
• Call your local Customer Operations Centre
• If gas is present in the tank, check all valves are open and if there is still no supply follow the instructions detailed below for a gas leak

If you suspect a gas leak

• Shut the emergency control valve outside the building
• Shut the gas isolation valve on top of the above-ground tank or beneath the cover of the underground tank
• DO NOT operate electrical switches, smoke or use naked flames and make sure there are no other sources of ignition around
• Open all doors and windows and ventilate at floor level, and all low level areas (Calor gas is heavier than air)
• Ring the Calor Emergency Service (24 hour) on 0845 7 444 999
