Rachel Hodge, market development manager at
Calor, the UK’s leading LPG supplier, predicts
steady growth in the market for LPG boilers and appliances
in 2005.
The potential for LPG is gathering with some momentum.
It is largely being driven by a change in market dynamics;
with over 1.7 million homes in the UK that are not connected
to mains gas – and of which 90 per cent have a
central heating system – we estimate that 1.5 million
rural homes offer real LPG potential.
The big residing influence is lifestyle – consumers
moving to the country want all the benefits of town and
city life.
This year, merchants in rural areas should consider
maximising the profit potential from LPG boilers, cookers
and fires by mapping their branches to the areas that
have a high proportion of non-mains-gas homes, a service
offered by Calor to ensure that sufficient LPG boilers
and appliances are stocked to meet demand.
If you would like to discuss your mapping requirements
please call Calor on 0800 121 4461.
